Universiteit Maastricht (UM) - Department of Precision Medicine

Maastricht University is the most international university in the Netherlands and distinguishes itself with its innovative education model, international character and multidisciplinary approach to research and education. UM and the University Hospital Maastricht work together under the umbrella organisation Maastricht University Medical Center+ which has three mutually reinforcing core tasks: patient care, research, education and training.

The Department of Precision Medicine is embedded in the Research School GROW and the Faculty of Health Medicine and Life Sciences at UM and consists of The D-lab, the M-Lab and the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU). The department has the ambition to be an internationally recognised leader in “Convergence Sciences”: the intersection of Medical Sciences, Biology and Technology. The D-Lab excels at applying artificial intelligence methods, such as explainable deep learning and handcrafted radiomics to medical imaging. The M-Lab is a basic science and translational research laboratory. The CTU manages phase 1 & 2 clinical trials, cohort studies and in silico trials.
