Tumour treating fields
Erasmus MC is a large academic hospital and research institute in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The first Dutch Brain Tumour Centre was founded here based on a long history and strong reputation in the treatment of and research for brain tumours. EMC has a specialised Department of Neurosurgery.
What is EMC’s main role?
The Department of Neurosurgery will execute a clinical trial in which patients with recurrent glioblastoma will be treated with local administration of an oncolytic virus. This virus aims to directly kill tumour cells and to indirectly elicit an immune response against the remaining tumour cells
