GLIOMATCH shares its work at the EU Cancer Mission Showcase in Brussels

GLIOMATCH participated in 5 years EU Cancer Mission: Stronger Through Connection, taking place in Brussels from 29 September to 1 October 2026. Organised by the European Commission, the event brings together researchers, clinicians, patients, policymakers and industry representatives to reflect on five years of the EU Cancer Mission and the next steps towards its 2030 goal.

On Day 1, our coordinator, Prof. Frederik De Smet (KUL-LISCO), represented GLIOMATCH at the exhibition stand, sharing the project’s work and first results in the context of the broader EU Cancer Mission. GLIOMATCH was showcased alongside fellow U-THI-Clust projects ARTURO, HIT-GLIO and THRIVE, as well as other EU-funded cancer projects.

The three-day programme connects research with the wider challenges of cancer prevention, treatment and care. Day 1 focused on understanding cancer and sharing data. Day 2 addressed prevention, early detection, quality of life, survivorship and palliative care, while Day 3 focuses on diagnosis, treatment and bringing innovation to patients.
